💷 Salary: £25,396.80 per year
🕘 Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

The Role:

As our Sports Coach, you’ll plan and deliver exciting, age-appropriate physical activities, games and movement sessions for children across the nursery.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Plan and deliver a varied programme of fun physical activities and movement sessions.

• Create safe and stimulating opportunities for active play both indoors and outdoors.

• Encourage teamwork, positive behaviour, confidence and participation through inclusive coaching.

• Adapt activities to meet the individual abilities, interests and needs of every child.

• Observe children’s physical development and share relevant observations with room leaders and parents.

• Work closely with nursery practitioners to incorporate physical activity into children’s daily routines and learning.

• Introduce creative new ideas to make movement and sport exciting for young children.

• Ensure equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately.

• Follow safeguarding, health & safety and hygiene procedures at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, creativity and a genuine passion for helping young children develop.

Essential

• Experience working with children in an early years or sports setting.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

• A patient, calm and nurturing approach.

• Ability to adapt activities to suit different abilities and needs.

• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection, or willingness to complete required training.

• Relevant paediatric first aid qualification, or willingness to obtain one.

• Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.

Desirable

• Sports coaching qualification, such as Level 1 or Level 2.

• Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification.

• Previous experience delivering physical activity programmes to young children.
